- The property is approved for a septic system and well.
- Wells average about 150 ft. to 200 ft. deep with the drilling cost of $9,000. (You may be able to share the cost of this with a neighbor who also wants to drill.)
- You need to purchase a 1/2 of a water share before a permit is issued.
- Currently 1/2 share costs $2000- $3000. A private septic system should cost about $5000-$6000.
- The least expensive means of power is by propane, solar and wind generations.
- Propane tanks rent for $45 + tax per year, $1.90 a gallon and they do the hookup from the house.
- You just need to dig the 18" deep trench and at least 10' from the house (And they deliver!)
BUILDING GUIDELINES: You may leave the property empty, or you may build a house, or use a manufactured home. You must have a well and a septic tank to get a building permit.
